The end of summer

August 31, 2009

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros: Alex Eber got a hippie girlfriend, grew a beard, traded in his tight pants and quit Ima Robot to make…folk pop.
But I saw them in concert tonight and I’m not really sure if I can describe them so cynically anymore. They were so damn adorable. It was so much fun. I feel like I’ve woken up from the happiest dream.

Preacher and the Knife opened for them, and they were also quite fun. “It’s like Rusted Root got attacked by rabid animals. Or Animal Collective, but with actual music.”

EDIT: Hahahaha no I’m sorry I can’t actually take them seriously. It’s Alex Eber! Pretending to be a guru! In the same voice that sang Dynomite!
